Embraceable You

"Embraceable You" is a popular tune written by George and Ira Gershwin back in 1928. The tune was eventually published in 1930 and included in the Broadway musical Girl Crazy. The song was performed by Ginger Rogers in a song and dance routine choreographed by Fred Astaire. Billie Holiday's 1944 recording is a jazz classic, rated as one of the best jazz recordings of all time. The was later inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2005. Dozens of artists have sung and performed "Embraceable You" including Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole, Bill Evans and Charlie Parker. This is me just playing around one afternoon. Music

I play mostly old jazz standards. Here's a short list starting with Misty, Sugar, Body and Soul, I Could Write A Book, I Only Have Eyes For You, Embraceable You, Ceora, Joy Spring, All The Things You Are, Pick Yourself Up, The Way You Look Tonight, Just The Way You Are, etc.

Gigs

I've played on several bands covering all kinds of music from the 60's to contemporary music. I also played in a Jazz Big Band while in college, as well as some solo work in big dances and events. I don't really have large musical aspiration, other than I just love to play music.

Alto Sax

I own a Yamaha YAS-62 Alto Saxophone. I've had this sax for 12 years. I use a Yamaha 4-C mouthpiece that came along with the sax, a Rovner ligature, and a 3.5 Plastic-Cover reed. I want a Dukoff D6 mouthpiece next.
